| Fred Harvey had 78 tackles and 21 sacks as a junior. He blocked a punt and had two fumble recoveries, one of them returned for a touchdown. The White Station defense allowed only 148.8 yards average per game in 2008. He was named All-Metro, All-Region and earned Region Defensive Player of the Year. Pepsi Best of the Preps. He says he can bench 320-pounds, squat 500 and has a 33-inch vertical jump.
Harvey plans on majoring in engineering and reports a 4.0 core GPA (4.0 scale with honors classes) and a 21 ACT, which he plans on retaking in the fall.
Harvey: “I can get to the ball quickly. I’m strong too and have good technique.
“I want to read the triangle quicker and get to the ball even faster. I’m also trying to bulk up a bit.”
