Even though the class of 2009 is not officially over yet most of the top recruits are winding down their choices and commitments. PrepTennessee.com will take a look at some of the top talent for the class of 2010. Find out more about some of this seasons top juniors and which schools are showing them the most interest.

There are two class of 2010 prospects from Tennessee in the Scout.com top 100. The first and highest ranked prospect is outside linebacker Jaques Smith, 6-2, 230 pounds from Ooltewah (Tenn.). Smith has been collecting interest from several schools in the SEC including a recent visit to Georgia and a visit from Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin. The interest in Smith is only going to grow as he moves into the winter months filled with junior day visits.

Another top prospect that has been showing off his skills is junior wide receiver Keiwone Malone, 6-1, 165 pounds from Memphis-Mitchell. Malone has already picked up offers from Tennessee, Duke, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina. Even with some of these top schools offering him Malone still has one school he lists as a favorite that he is waiting on an offer from. An offer from Miami would be a big name to add to the list for Malone.

Zak Tait, 6-4, 300 pound offensive linemen from Knoxville-Catholic was one of the top prospects in the class of 2009, but an injury pushed him back into the class of 2010. Many schools were looking into him as a top prospect last January. After suffering a major injury in the 2007 season to his knee Tait has been working hard to reprove his abilities to some of the top schools. This prospect will rely on some combine work along with some successful junior day visits, but could begin reeling in some offers from top programs. He has a very heavy interest in Alabama at this point in time.

James Stone, 6-4.5, 280 pounds from Nashville-Maplewood is an Earth mover. He has great size, strength, and mobility making him one of the top prospects in the state. With offers from Tennessee and Alabama early in the fall of 2008 fans can expect Tait to pick up several more offers in the winter. Other schools looking at Stone include Vanderbilt and Notre Dame.
