Mark Mulloy, 6-3.5, 240 pound defensive end/tight end from Nashville-Father Ryan High School is having a big senior season. Find out more about one of the relatively unknown gems in the mid state and the schools showing him the most interest.

Teams from across the Middle/East Region of Division Two are beginning to recognize the play of senior defensive end/tight end Mark Mulloy from Nashville-Father Ryan High School. Mulloy, 6-3.5, 240 pounds has great athleticism, speed, and quickness off the football making him a tough defender against both the run and the pass. On the offensive side of the ball he is athletic enough to go up in traffic and make spectacular catches.

Mulloy said of his senior season, “I’m pretty happy with my play this year. I feel like I have played really well defensively. I know my responsibilities and I have made some plays.” There is no better evidence of that than his performance this past Friday night against Nashville-Ensworth, the number one team in the state. Mulloy had 13 total tackles and a one tackle for a loss in the close ball game.

For the Irish of Nashville-Father Ryan Mulloy has also been a catalyst on the offensive side of the ball. With his big frame he is a great target to throw to and he is able to use that size to gain more yards. He commented, “On the offensive side I have been able to contribute to our team and make some first downs.” On the season Mulloy has 18 catches for 184 yards and two touchdowns including one early touchdown in the game Friday night.

As for the teams Mulloy has a great deal of interest in he said,“I think Western Kentucky is a school I am definitely interested in right now.” He added, “I am going to try to go up there for the Middle Tennessee game with Sean Conway.”

He went to add, “I am interested in Miami (OH) as well. A few weeks ago Coach Jay Graham came by the school to talk to me and that was pretty cool.” He listed another group of schools that showed early interest in Mulloy that he still likes, “I really like Vanderbilt as well and Middle Tennessee right now. I hope to hear more from those schools.”

As for the Hilltoppers from Western Kentucky Mulloy commented, “I know they are a new division one school and I know they have great facilities. I am really anticipating a visit up there to learn more about them.”

One aspect that really intrigues Mulloy in recruiting is the chance to play with teammate Sean Conway at the next level. Right now Conway is being heavily recruited by Western Kentucky and has an offer from the Hilltoppers. Mulloy commented on a possible offer from Western Kentucky and the opportunity to play with Conway again by saying, “I think it would be really special because we have been playing together since second grade and then we played together all through Saint Henry’s. We have become really good friends and I think it would be great to play together all the way from Pee Wee football up to division one college football.”
