Find out what this three star athletes from Paris-Henry County thinks about the schools showing him interest. Learn more about Marsalis Teague’s visit to Tennessee and his reaction to the Volunteers.

Marsalis Teague, 5-10, 175 pound defensive back and athlete from Paris-Henry County said of his visit, “It was the first time I went to a college game and it was an overall great experience for me being in Neyland stadium. I got to talk to all of the coaches again.” He added of the Volunteers performance, “Tennessee obviously did not play well, but they made mistakes that can be fixed.”

One interesting factor for the game for Teague was his chance to check about both Tennessee and Florida at the same time since they have both offered him. He said of the Florida victory, “I don’t think it sways me one way or another, but it is definitely something in the back of my mind that I will remember.”

The Volunteers seem to be excited about their chances with Marsalis Teague and have a variety of plans for his playing future. He explained, “After the game I had a long talk with Coach Slade. We talked about the schemes and how they like to use different players in different situations.”

Teague added, “Coach Fulmer also told me he sees using me like Gerald Jones. He said if I came up there that would definitely be a possibility.” A few other schools are recruiting Teague as an athlete, including Michigan and Vanderbilt, and have talked about being packaged into both sides of the football. Teague commented “I would probably rather play quarterback than wide receiver, but I like trying to be a playmaker. That can be made up by being a punt returner also.”

Tennessee fans may feel that they have an inside track since Teague’s teammate Dominque Allen has already committed to the Volunteers. Teague however explains, “We talk about it and we both have to do what’s best for us in our situation. What may be best for him may not be best for me.”
