Week Three Analysis: East Tennessee

Teams across the state are beginning to separate themselves in all classifications. Find out who some of the teams of some of the top prospects in the state will be taking on this week. Learn more about the prospects and the big games they have on Friday.

Fans can take in one of the biggest rivalries in East Tennessee this week as Kingsport-Dobyns Bennett travels south to take on rival Oak Ridge (Tenn.). One of the biggest rivalries in the state this game always provides excitement, big crowds, and a playoff atmosphere. The Indians from Kingsport-Dobyns Bennett will look to sophomore sensation running back, Chris Sensabaugh, 5-11, 195 pounds. This will be his first big time action for the 2008 season and fans can expect him to perform. The Wildcats of Oak Ridge hope to be led by senior quarterback Tyler Clark, 6-3, 195 pounds hope to get things going offensively. The Wildcats are undefeated to start the early season and ranked in the top ten in 5A. This game should provide plenty of action and excitement.

Another rivalry that will be settled this week in East Tennessee will take place between Knoxville-Bearden and Knoxville-Farragut. The battle for "How the West was won" will feature the number one team in 5A, the Knoxville-Farragut Admirals, and their leader offensive guard Will Jackson, 6-4, 280 pounds. Jackson, a Georgia Tech commitment, should have a huge game and help an explosive offense keep things rolling this week.

Staying in East Tennessee, the Patriots from Jefferson City-Jefferson County (Tenn.) will have a chance to watch one of the premier defensive players in the state on Friday night. DeMarcus Knight, 6-2, 230 pound will look to lead his Morristown-East (Tenn.) Hurricanes into a big rivalry game this Friday. Knight, who has been a solid commitment to Ole Miss, since early winter hopes to continue to improve on his game to get his team moving in the right direction.

East Tennessee football has gone international this week. The Lions from Chattanooga-Red Bank (Tenn.) will host a team from Brantford, Canada this Friday. Last season the two matched up and the Lions were able to come away with the 33-10 win. This season fans will be able to experience an unique experience as these two schools line up and square off in a good ole international game of football.
