Tenn. Receiver Looking for Big Senior Season

Tenn. Receiver Looking for Big Senior Season

One of the top receivers in Middle Tennessee is picking up a lot of interest. Find out who is talking with Bo Gilroy, 6-1, 179 pound wide receiver from Brentwood-Ravenwood (Tenn.) and what he thinks about each school.

Bo Gilroy reported, "I've been receiving a lot of mail from Tennessee, Louisville, and Navy lately. I've been talking on the phone with Louisville. He told me to get him some early footage of the first couple of games. I have been trying to put together a tape of some of the seven on seven tournaments we've been going to."

The Cardinals are a program that Gilroy hopes to hear from more in the future. He explained of his prospects Louisville, "They seem close to an offer. They are looking for a free safety position. They said they need to see more film on me before they can take the next step, but I am definitely hoping for an offer from Louisville." He added, "They have Papa John's stadium which is amazing. I really like the school's location because it's close to home."

The service academies have also been showing a lot of interest as Gilroy already holds an offer from Army. In addition he is receiving a lot of interest from Air Force and Navy. He commented on his trip to Air Force, "It went really good. I went on campus and met the football coaches up there. They didn't offer me, but I would really like an offer from Air Force." At this point Navy is staying in close contact as well and he said, "I think all of the academies have a lot to offer. They are staying in touch."

The instate school, Tennessee, has not offered but is showing a lot of interest. Gilroy hopes a big senior season will show a need for him at receiver. He explained, "They are sending a lot of mail, but they have not called much. I would love to go to Tennessee. It's a big school and a chance to play in the SEC."

An up and coming program that is showing some interest is Western Kentucky. At this point they have definitely caught Gilroy's eye as he said, "They are not taking very many skill positions this year and hopefully I am high on their list. I know I did pretty well up there at their camp. They are done with the new facilities. I really liked the stadium and now they have a new stadium, new locker room, and new weight room."

The 2008 season hopes to be a strong season for Ravenwood with players like Gilroy and teammate Logan Massengale. Gilroy commented on the 2008 season, "I'm excited. It is definitely going to show how much work we have done since January." On a personal level he added, "I need to show out for some of these coaches from these colleges and I can't wait to show what I've got."
