Jones said of Memphis, "Memphis is where I am from. It would be a great choice because it would put me close to my family and they could watch me play." He added, "They are recruiting me as a running back. I really like the offense because it's a single back system. This December I went down to watch a practice and I like what I saw."
Vanderbilt is one of the two SEC offers for Jones. He said of Vanderbilt, "It's a very prestigious school. I would love to have the opportunity to play there." He said of visiting campus, "Not yet, but I plan on going this summer."
Jones will travel today to visit Tennessee. He commented, "Out of all the coaches I've talked to I really like Phil Fulmer. He really makes me feel like I'm wanted there." He added, "I expect an offer soon."
Jones said of Tennessee, "I would love to play there. It doesn't get any better than that the atmosphere. You look at 110,000 people at one game, and that's crazy."
Another school that is after Jones is Middle Tennessee State. He explained, "That's a good place for me too because that's where I won the state championship. I'll always have memories of that." He went on to say, "I plan on going to their summer camp to check it out and meet their coaches."
The final of his offers comes from Mississippi State. He commented, "The bulldogs they are a team on the rise. They are ready to have a great year. I think Sylvester Croom is a great coach and he will have the team ready." As far as getting on campus he added, "Not yet, but I'm going to their summer camp too."
He plans to attend camps this summer in hopes of adding to the offer list. He commented, "Alabama has been to my school a few times. I've talked with Auburn a few times and they are after me pretty hard. Louisville has been sending me a lot of mail and so has Southern Mississippi."
Jones described his strengths as, "My vision is my main trait. It sets me apart from most other running backs. I think I have the total package; size, speed, and power."
As far as the prospect of his team this season he commented, "I think we have a chance to repeat as state champions this year."
Jones will be in Knoxville today on an unofficial visit at Tennessee. Check back on PrepTennessee.com later today for an update on his visit.
