"I talked it over with my parents, and they gave me the OK," Robinson said about his meeting with his family tonight (Thursday). "They were excited that I want to go to Ole Miss and stay close to home. They gave me the thumbs up so I went ahead and called (Ole Miss head) coach (Hugh) Freeze and (tight ends) coach (Maurice) Harris and told them I was committing."

The Memphis East standout was a long time Arkansas commit but the change of staffs opened the door for the Rebels.

"I just like the family environment around there, and coach Harris and Freze came after me the hardest. They called me every week no matter if I was committed to Arkansas or not. They just stayed on me hard the whole way through and never let up."

Scout.com's #32 rated outside linebacker sees himself in the rotation next fall at Ole Miss.

"They want me to play some weakside linebacker, but if I gain a little weight I could play some strong side linebacker. My biggest strength is covering in pass coverage. I can get after the passer pretty good too. I'm just going to go in there to Ole Miss and play my hardest and put it in God's hands. If I put my heart into it I know I can start or get a lot of playing time. Ole Miss is not scared to play their freshmen. I saw all of those freshmen playing this season and that really caught my attention. Tonight is going to be a good night. I can't wait to make that call."

Marcus had 84 tackles and two interceptions on defense and 12 catches for 234 yards and three touchdowns on offense. He was named first team All-State.

Memphis East is expected to send a pair of players on official visits to Ole Miss this weekend. Robinson will be joined by Ole Miss commit Herbert Moore. Christian Morris moved his visit to Ole Miss to next weekend due to a basketball game he has to play in this Saturday.
